BiopSafe – for safe and exposure free handling of formalin
A common problem for all personal that are taking biopsy samples is the risks involved with handling of formalin, which is used to prevent biological sample degradation. When using commonly available prefilled sample containers there is a risk of inhaling formaldehyde fumes or to spill out formalin by accident. BiopSafe removes these risks completely, and is the only solution on the market that offers handling of small sized tissue biopsies free of formalin exposure.
BiopSafe is a patented security container with formalin stored in the container lid. Once the sample is put into the container formalin can be applied with a gentle push once the lid is securely tightened.
About formalin/formaldehyde
Formalin contains formaldehyde, typically at a concentration of approximately 4% when used as a sample preservative. Formaldehyde is classified as a carcinogen (cat. 1B) and mutagen (cat. 2) under EU CLP regulation and it is generally recommended to minimize exposure as far as possible.
